- Comfortable long-sleeved top and long trousers. You do not need a keikogi to start.

- Aikido Musubi, a non-profit cultural association founded in 2008. We are part of Aikido Arashi Group, recognised by the Aikikai Foundation (Hombu Dojo, Tokyo).

An email or a WhatsApp. We will tell you which day suits and who will meet you.

Arrive fifteen minutes early
We will show you the changing room and the mat, and introduce whoever will train with you.

Comfortable clothes, nothing else
Long sleeves, long trousers, bare feet. One hour, and nobody is going to test you on day one.

Who teaches
The instructors
The dojo is led by Pablo Martín, 4th dan Aikikai and shidōin, who founded the association in 2008. The aikido team is nine instructors holding Aikikai dan grades, and they are the same people who teach in Barcelona and in Sant Adrià de Besòs. All of them follow the line of the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need previous experience?
No. Someone starting out trains alongside someone with years behind them, and there is no competition in aikido, so nobody is measuring themselves against you.
Do I have to buy a keikogi to start?
No. Comfortable long-sleeved clothes and long trousers are enough for the first classes. If you then sign up by the quarter or the year, the dojo provides the keikogi, at any of the spaces.
Can I try before signing up?
Yes: two trial classes, and registration costs nothing. Write to us and we will tell you which day to come.
How much does it cost?
39 € a month, or 29 € up to age 16, with access to all our spaces: Badalona, Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs. Paying by the quarter or the year costs less, and in a family, the first person pays the normal fee and each one after that pays 15 € less a month. Registration is free and there are two trial classes. The annual sports insurance is paid separately.
What language are the classes in?
In Spanish and Catalan, and in English whenever it is needed. The terminology is Japanese, as in any dojo, and you pick it up as you go.
How is it different from the other spaces?
Badalona is the dojo: a space given over entirely to martial arts, with aikido Tuesday to Saturday, mornings and evenings. The gradings, the seminars and the masterclasses happen here. Barcelona has aikido two days a week, and Sant Adrià de Besòs has the class for children and young people.
