Accessibility statement

What we have done so this site can be used with a keyboard, with a screen reader or with tired eyes, what we know still fails, and how to tell us.

Our commitment

Associació Cultural Musubi Aikido wants anyone to be able to read the timetable, find the dojo and write to us, however they browse. We are not required by law to publish this statement: we are not a public body and we do not provide e-commerce services. We publish it because the work has been done, and because a dojo that says it welcomes everyone ought to say so here as well.

What we have done

A skip link as the first element on every page, so nobody has to tab through the twenty links in the menu.
Contrast measured, not estimated, element by element and against the real composited background. All text reaches at least 4.5:1, and interface elements 3:1.
Full keyboard navigation, with focus always visible and submenus reachable even when JavaScript does not run.
One h1 per page and no skipped heading levels, verified automatically on every build.
Alternative text on images that inform, and none on decorative ones.
Reduced motion is honoured: if your system asks for it, the animations stop.
Text can be enlarged to 200 % without anything overlapping or disappearing, and no page needs horizontal scrolling.
No external dependencies: fonts and scripts are served from this domain, so the page works the same with blockers on.
Each page declares its language, and Japanese passages are marked as Japanese so a screen reader pronounces them correctly.

What we know still fails

Third-party PDFs (seminar programmes, federation forms) are not always tagged. If you need one in another format, ask and we will send it.
The access plans are satellite images. They carry a text description with the address and the entrance, but the image itself cannot be interpreted.
Videos hosted on Instagram have no captions and are not under our control. We are captioning the new ones.
Some older texts translated years ago are more convoluted than we would like. We are rewriting them.

How to tell us

If you hit a barrier, write to info@aikidomusubi.com telling us which page it was and what happened. We reply within fifteen days. If what you need is a particular piece of content in another format, say so and we will prepare it.
